Bitcoin robbers transfer stolen BTCs to unknown accounts

Bitcoin robbers transfer stolen BTCs worth $13.2 million to unknown wallets, some hours ago. The crypto wallet, Whale Alert, tracked wallets linked to Bitfinex’s 2016 security breach have moved over 1,200 Bitcoins in over 4 transactions.

According to a tweet by Whale Alert, “455.11 BTC (4,851,402 USD) of stolen funds were transferred from Bitfinex Hack 2016 to unknown wallet”.

The Director of Community & Product Development for Bitfinex, Zane Tackett, in a statement credited to Reuters, in 2016, disclosed that 119,756 BTCs had been stolen from users’ accounts.

He stated that: ”The bitcoin was stolen from users’ segregated wallets”.
The longest-running cryptocurrency exchange company, Bitfinex, added that it reported the theft to security agencies and they are tracking the stolen BTCs with the help of some blockchain analytic companies.
