Leadway Group has marked the first anniversary of its women empowerment initiative, Hersurred, reaffirming its commitment to advancing gender inclusion and equipping women with essential resources to thrive in various sectors.
The event, held under the theme “Here for Her,” brought together women from different industries, including finance, oil and gas, insurance, and public service, to share their experiences and discuss strategies for accelerating women’s growth in Nigeria. The gathering featured notable personalities, including Leadway Group’s Chief People Experience Officer, Kunbi Adeoti, and Chief Finance Officer, Yemisi Rotimi, both of whom emphasized the company’s dedication to fostering a culture of empowerment.
Kunbi Adeoti stated, “At Leadway Group, we are dedicated to cultivating a dynamic and inclusive community where diversity is valued, and everyone has the opportunity to flourish. Our mission is to nurture a culture of belonging, empowerment, and growth, enabling individuals to reach their full potential.”
She further highlighted the significance of Hersurred in creating a support network for women across different industries, allowing them to share their journeys, challenges, and victories while learning from one another.
Hersurred was launched by Leadway Group as a platform designed to provide women with mentorship opportunities, access to relevant information, and tools that help them navigate their careers and businesses successfully. Since its inception, the initiative has championed financial literacy, business development, and leadership training for women across Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, Yemisi Rotimi stressed the need for continued investment in women’s empowerment, saying, “Empowering women is about creating an environment where they have equal access to opportunities, leadership roles, and platforms to make a meaningful impact. Hersurred is a movement that ensures women are seen, heard, and equipped with the resources to shatter glass ceilings, thrive, and shape the future they envision.”
Participants at the event engaged in discussions on gender equality, financial independence, and leveraging networks for business growth. Leadway also used the platform to reaffirm its commitment to closing the gender gap in leadership positions by promoting inclusive hiring policies and professional development programs.
Since its establishment, Hersurred has continued to drive impactful conversations around diversity and inclusion, ensuring women have the resources and confidence to take on leadership roles and entrepreneurial ventures.
As Leadway Group celebrates this milestone, the company remains focused on strengthening the Hersurred community, expanding its reach, and providing more opportunities for women to access training, funding, and mentorship. The initiative has positioned itself as a key player in advocating for women’s rights and inclusion in Nigeria’s corporate and business landscape.
With the success of its first-year anniversary, Hersurred aims to build on its achievements and create more avenues for women to excel in their respective fields. Leadway Group encourages more women to join the movement, network, and explore new opportunities that will help them grow professionally and personally.
