One passenger feared dead on Monday after a bus and a highlander Jeep collided with a moving commuter train at PWD inward Oshodi, Lagos.
Radarr. Africa gathered that six passengers narrowly escape death in the early hours on Monday when a commuter bus with registration number GGE 972 GE veered into the train tracks while crossing the rail at PWD inward Oshodi and collided with the scheduled commuter train.
This was disclosed by the DG, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu.
According to Oke-Osanyintolu, “The agency received distress calls on the above and they were able to successfully extricate the passengers while the wreckage of the bus has been removed to allow the free flow of commuter traffic.
“The bus was then dragged along for a stretch of the journey before the train managed to come to a complete halt,” Oke-Osanyintolu said.
She urges members of the public, especially commercial drivers of commuter buses to always exercise caution and obey traffic regulations to prevent transport delays and unnecessary accidents.
