Nigeria and fifty-two others have been restrained from the list of countries to enter into Europe when the ban on border closure is finally lifted on July 1st

European officials noted that the ban exercise is important amid the global surges, while the European Union Commission announced the 52 countries that are not qualified for travels into Europe once the ban on border closure is lifted.

Countries whose travel restriction were extended include Brazil, Russia and India which have seen their number of positive cases surge in recent weeks citing epidemiological factors as the reason for their decision.

Countries from which travellers are allowed to enter Europe include Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Angola, Australia, Bahamas, Bhutan, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Canada

Others listed are China, Costa Rica, Cuba, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Dominica, Egypt, Ethiopia, Georgia, Guyana, India, Indonesia, Jamaica, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Lebanon and Mauritius.

More countries include Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar, Namibia, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Palau, Paraguay, Rwanda, Saint Lucia, Serbia, South Korea, Tajikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Vatican City, Venezuela, Vietnam and Zambia

European Council President Charles Michel, said the EU determines from which countries it would be safe to accept travellers. Their responsibility at the moment is to continue to monitor the situation regularly while they keep their most vulnerable safe.

They will inform the public in due time on how the restrictions are eased for countries on the list.
