South Africa bans eating on domestic flights

As South Africa emerges from the second wave of coronavirus after several weeks of receding numbers of new COVID-19 cases. 

The President announced a return to Level 1 of the lockdown as restriction begins to ease up and businesses reopen.

Authorities urge South African not to let their guards down and encourage travellers to adhere to mask-wearing on aircraft and as such prohibits any form of catering or food consumption onboard domestic flights except bottled water.

Previously, the airline was allowed to offer pre-pack meals as it was in line with the established COVID -protocols.

Additionally, the domestic flight will have to adhere to the new curfew hours which starts from 4:00 am and travellers with international flights will provide a valid air ticket upon request.
