Residents in Musanze District pleased with Paul Kagame's victory

In the recent elections, Kagame received overwhelming support and won with a significant margin of 99.15%. However, Residents of Musanze District, are questioning the expectations set by certain groups that Musanze would deliver a 100% vote for him, a goal that was emphasized before the elections.

These residents attribute their contribution to Kagame’s victory to his past achievements within the community over the last seven years. These include infrastructure improvements such as roads, schools, the development of the model village of Kinigi, and enhanced access to water and electricity.

In discussions with Kigali Today, residents expressed pride in Musanze’s high voter turnout for Kagame, although they fell short of the targeted 100%.

They analogized this achievement to a successful student who falls just short of a perfect score. Niyonsaba Michel, a motorcycle driver, highlighted Kagame’s positive impact on the community through initiatives like parental and children’s education, infrastructure development, and cleanliness improvements on roads.

Residents emphasized their gratitude towards Kagame for his ongoing support and attention to Musanze District, illustrating his care and trust in the local population. Furthermore, motorists in the area raised concerns during Kagame’s recent visit, particularly regarding high taxes and costly insurance.
They expressed hope that Kagame would address these issues to alleviate financial burdens on the community.
