Talkio Mobile, a rising player in Uganda’s telecom industry, has officially opened its new flagship service centre at Ntinda Complex, about seven kilometres from Kampala city centre. The launch, held on Friday, August 15, marks an important step in the company’s plan to reshape the country’s communications sector.
The new centre sits in Ntinda, one of Kampala’s busiest commercial hubs, and is designed to bring telecom services closer to both individual and corporate customers. It offers a wide range of solutions — including instant SIM card activation, advanced eSIM technology, enterprise communication packages, mobile device support, and integrated mobile payment options.
Company executives say the modern facility was built with customer convenience in mind. It features a sleek design, wheelchair access for people living with disabilities, multilingual customer service for Uganda’s diverse population, and extended service hours to accommodate different work schedules.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, Talkio Mobile’s Chief Executive Officer, Vianne Allan Ahura, said the decision to choose Ntinda Complex was intentional.
“Ntinda reflects the vibrant, forward-thinking spirit of modern Uganda — a community that values innovation, convenience, and quality service. Our new facility embodies these values while bringing our revolutionary telecom solutions directly to where people live, work, and connect,” she said.
This launch comes at a time when Uganda is pursuing its Vision 2040 agenda, which aims to build a digitally inclusive economy. Under this national plan, telecom infrastructure plays a major role in driving growth in e-commerce, mobile banking, and technology-powered services. Industry experts believe that companies like Talkio Mobile are important to achieving these goals by expanding access to high-quality and affordable communication services.
Talkio Mobile has already built a wide distribution network in Uganda, with over 20,000 agent points nationwide through a partnership with Interswitch’s Quickteller platform. However, the Ntinda centre signals a shift towards company-owned facilities that allow for more personalised and efficient customer service.
According to Martha Ninsiima, the company’s Customer Experience Manager, every detail of the new centre was planned to make the customer journey smooth and enjoyable.
“From the moment customers step through our doors, they can feel the difference in how we handle their needs. This is not just about selling SIM cards — it’s about creating an experience where every customer feels valued,” Ninsiima explained.
To mark the opening, Talkio Mobile has launched a special promotion. Customers who buy a SIM card during the launch period will be entered into a prize draw to win some of the latest smartphones. The prize packages also come with data and voice bundles to get winners connected immediately.
The Ntinda centre is part of Talkio Mobile’s bigger 2025–2026 expansion plan, which targets key economic corridors in Kampala as well as major regional towns across Uganda. The company hopes that by combining advanced telecom solutions with friendly and accessible customer care, it will not only compete with existing market leaders but also play a role in driving Uganda’s digital transformation.
Telecom analysts say that moves like this can have a ripple effect across the economy. By making it easier for people to access mobile services, businesses can grow their digital presence, mobile payments become more widespread, and communities benefit from faster communication and information access. In a country where mobile penetration is growing rapidly, customer-focused service centres could be a major competitive advantage.
For many residents and business owners in Ntinda, the arrival of Talkio Mobile’s new centre could mean quicker problem-solving, easier access to new technologies, and better options for mobile connectivity. As competition in Uganda’s telecom industry continues to heat up, customer experience and service quality may become the deciding factors in winning over subscribers.
With this latest development, Talkio Mobile has positioned itself as more than just another telecom operator. The company is presenting itself as a partner in Uganda’s push towards a tech-driven economy, promising not only to connect people but also to open up new opportunities for innovation, business growth, and social inclusion.
