Air Peace confirmed that the UK Civil Aviation Authority conducted a ramp inspection on its aircraft operating the Lagos-London route and raised concerns, which have since been resolved with the UK authorities.
The airline debunked reports alleging safety breaches in its operation as false and aimed at instilling fear and doubt in potential travellers. Air Peace stated that its operations have been under thorough scrutiny by relevant authorities since the commencement of its inaugural flight to London, emphasizing its commitment to operational excellence and the safety of passengers.
Regarding the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s inquiries about Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) usage and other concerns, Air Peace clarified the matter to the satisfaction of the authorities. The airline highlighted that it has approval from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority for EFB use on its Boeing 777 aircraft.
Additionally, Air Peace addressed issues such as the installation of iPad mounts and charging ports in the flight deck, as well as the location of the cockpit library on the B777 aircraft, ensuring compliance with standards and preferences highlighted during the inspection. The airline acknowledged deviations in runway exit procedures and assured corrective measures have been taken to uphold preferred exit protocols in the future.
