Three Crowns Milk Celebrates World Milk Day with Campaign to Support Nigerian Mothers’ Health

FrieslandCampina WAMCO, the producer of Three Crowns Milk, has restated its commitment to improving maternal health and nutrition in Nigeria through its new campaign titled “Treasure That Nourishes Our World.” This announcement was made as part of activities to mark the 2025 World Milk Day, which is celebrated globally every year on June 1.

The company, known for its popular dairy brand Three Crowns, said the campaign focuses on promoting good nutrition, especially for mothers, through both online and physical engagements in major cities across the country. The Marketing Manager for Three Crowns, Chioma Igwe, explained that the campaign is designed to highlight how dairy, especially milk, plays a key role in ensuring mothers are strong and well-nourished to take care of their families.

According to Igwe, “This year’s global theme, Let’s Celebrate the Power of Dairy, shows how dairy is an affordable and nutrient-rich food that is important for a balanced diet worldwide. Through our campaign, we are not only encouraging people to take more dairy products, but we are also recognising the sacrifices and strength of Nigerian mothers.”

She added that Three Crowns Milk is committed to ensuring that mothers, who are the backbone of families, get the nutrition they need to function well in their homes and society. She said, “When mothers are well-nourished with quality milk like Three Crowns, they are better equipped to care for their families and fulfil their many vital roles in society.”

The Brand Manager of Three Crowns Milk, Lilian Elue, also shared more information about the campaign. She said the initiative was created to deepen the brand’s relationship with its consumers by engaging them through various channels. These include nationwide product activations, reward schemes for loyal customers, and educational sessions on the health benefits of dairy products.

Elue explained, “Our campaign activities went beyond just celebrating milk. We used the opportunity to appreciate Nigerian mothers and also educate them about the health and nutritional support that Three Crowns Milk offers. This campaign has helped strengthen the brand’s presence while also supporting families with useful information.”

FrieslandCampina WAMCO revealed that thousands of Nigerians participated in the 2025 campaign. These included market activations in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Enugu, and Kano. During these events, health professionals and nutritionists spoke to mothers about the importance of regular milk consumption for strong bones, better immunity, and overall family wellness.

The company noted that Three Crowns Milk has remained a trusted name among Nigerian families for over 30 years. Known for its low cholesterol and heart-friendly formula, the milk is often marketed as the choice for mothers who want to care for their health while also nourishing their families.

The celebration of World Milk Day is an initiative by the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations. It was created to draw attention to the importance of milk as a global food source. Since its launch in 2001, World Milk Day has been celebrated in many countries, and Nigeria continues to play an active role through campaigns like this one from FrieslandCampina WAMCO.

Many nutrition experts have continued to recommend milk as an important part of daily diets, especially for women and children. They advise that regular consumption of milk helps to improve health outcomes and reduce cases of malnutrition.

With this year’s campaign, FrieslandCampina WAMCO has again shown its dedication to not just selling products, but also supporting public health goals in Nigeria. The company said it will continue to look for new ways to support women and promote healthy living through its Three Crowns brand.
