Two top technology firms, Tranter IT and ManageEngine, have announced fresh plans to partner with more than 150 Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) of the federal government as part of their effort to speed up digital transformation in Nigeria’s public sector.
The announcement came on Monday, May 26, through a joint statement ahead of the 2025 edition of the ITGOV Conference which will hold in Abuja on May 29. The theme of this year’s edition is “Advancing Government Operations Through Digital Transformation.” The organisers say the conference will bring together senior government officials, IT experts, technology leaders, and policy makers to talk about how to improve service delivery, accountability, and innovation in the public sector using digital tools.
According to the organisers, the event will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and direct consultation sessions designed to help MDAs understand how to apply technology to their everyday operations. They believe this will increase efficiency, transparency, and service delivery in the public sector.
Executive Director of Tranter Group, Ms Melanie Ayoola, said the public sector can no longer afford to ignore technology, stressing that digital transformation is now necessary for any government that wants to grow. She explained that the 2025 edition of the conference is attracting more attention than last year’s, with over 300 participants already registered as of Monday. She said last year’s conference had about 285 participants from over 70 government agencies including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC).
Melanie Ayoola noted that Tranter IT and its partners have contacted more than 150 MDAs to take part in this year’s edition and expressed hope that the turnout will set a new record for digital transformation advocacy in Nigeria’s public sector. She added that the organisers are also working closely with private sector organisations that are ready to support government efforts through innovation.
Apart from the main event on May 29, technical consultation sessions have also been fixed for May 28 and May 30. These sessions will give MDAs the chance to receive step-by-step guidance on how to align their daily operations with modern IT tools and platforms provided by ManageEngine. ManageEngine is a global IT solutions provider that offers services in system monitoring, IT security, service management, and automation.
Several high-ranking government officials and agency heads are expected to attend the Abuja event. These include the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency, Mr Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi; Director General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Mr Dasuki Arabi; and the Director of Information Technology at the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mrs Jide-Samuel Avbasowamen. Other expected attendees include representatives from FIRS, Galaxy Backbone, and the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), among others.
Tranter IT has been the sole distributor of ManageEngine’s digital solutions in Nigeria for over 13 years. Their partnership with the Bureau of Public Service Reforms has helped introduce technology-driven reforms in many government offices, especially in areas like automation, digital reporting, cybersecurity, and document management.
The Regional Sales Manager of ManageEngine, Mr Solomon Raj, said the goal of the 2025 ITGOV Conference is to help MDAs achieve real results using IT tools. He said the firm is committed to helping Nigerian government agencies become more efficient, save cost, and deliver better services to citizens. Mr Raj explained that the panel discussion format for this year’s event will be different. Instead of the usual speech-style, the organisers are introducing an interactive format that will allow for open discussions between moderators, panellists, and the audience. He believes this new format will help participants better understand how to apply digital transformation ideas in their offices.
The upcoming ITGOV Conference 2025 is seen as a key part of the federal government’s wider digital transformation drive, which has gained momentum in recent years. Many government MDAs have begun shifting to digital platforms for record keeping, payment systems, service portals, and communication. However, experts say more is needed in terms of capacity building, staff training, and modern infrastructure to fully transform Nigeria’s public sector into a tech-driven system.
As digital tools continue to shape governance across the world, the ITGOV 2025 Conference presents another opportunity for Nigeria to build a more transparent and efficient public service using technology.
