Ukraine has raised over $35 million worth of cryptocurrencies amid the war with Russia. This is the first of its kind war funding, this shows how cryptocurrencies are playing an instrumental role in the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
In a single day, the country raised $10.7 million in cryptocurrency with the total amount of money raised so far having surpassed $35 million.
Last week, a Decentralised Autonomous Organization, known as UkraineDAO, was established to gather donations for the war-torn country. Crypto donations are being sent to the government, as well as to non-governmental organizations like Come Back Alive.
In a Twitter post on Tuesday, the Ukrainian government published a list of specified bank account numbers for foreign money wire transfers to help its military forces.
Furthermore, the country announced that they had set up a wallet address such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT and Polkadot to accept donations from the global community.
The news comes as military experts expect Russia’s attacks to become more ferocious and destructive.
