The organisers of the Africa International Housing Show (AIHS) have announced a major collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development for the 19th edition of the event, set to take place from July 27 to August 1, 2025, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.
In a statement issued by the AIHS team, the 2025 edition will focus on the theme, “Reimagining Housing Through Innovation, Collaboration, and Policy.” The organisers say this year’s event will place a strong spotlight on sustainable housing strategies and policy-driven reforms that can speed up housing delivery across Nigeria and the African continent.
According to the AIHS Coordinator and founder of Housing TV Africa, Mr. Festus Adebayo, this new partnership with the Ministry marks a significant milestone for the housing and construction sector. He noted that with the Honourable Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, as Chief Host, the event will take a deeper dive into the practical solutions needed to overcome Nigeria’s housing challenges.
“The recent upgrade of housing to a standalone federal ministry is a game-changer. It shows that the Federal Government is taking housing seriously. Through this partnership, we hope to push forward real reforms that will improve land access, encourage local production of building materials, and inspire innovation across the sector,” Adebayo said.
One of the major talking points of AIHS 2025 will be land administration, land reform, and policy around land use. The organisers believe these are fundamental issues that must be addressed if affordable housing is to become a reality in Nigeria.
“Land accessibility has remained a major bottleneck for both developers and home seekers. That is why the summit will bring together state governors, housing commissioners, and town planning officials to engage in meaningful dialogue that leads to reform,” the organisers said.
More than 21 countries are expected to participate in this year’s event, which will feature over 400 exhibitors and thousands of visitors from different sectors. Attendees will include real estate developers, construction firms, urban planners, housing finance institutions, policy leaders, and foreign investors.
In addition to exhibitions and networking, AIHS 2025 will feature technical sessions, policy forums, and investment showcases. The event will create a platform for deals to be struck between local and foreign investors, particularly in the areas of local manufacturing, public-private partnerships, and job creation.
Some of the top corporate supporters and sponsors already confirmed include Dangote Cement, Lafarge Africa, Brains & Hammers, Urban Shelter, Hall7, Nedcomoaks, MOFI, Family Homes Funds, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, CDK Integrated Industries, Sinoma Nigeria, Mshel Homes, and Copen Group.
The show has also received the backing of several international partners and country delegations from Dubai, the United Kingdom, China, and Italy, among others.
AIHS 2025 will further enjoy institutional support from leading professional bodies in the built environment such as the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), the Association of Housing Corporations of Nigeria (AHCN), the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP), the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB), and the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON).
Organisers say the event is not just about showcasing products, but also about fostering policy change and practical collaboration. They believe this year’s edition will play a major role in shaping the future of housing delivery in Africa, especially as Nigeria and other nations tackle urbanisation and affordable housing challenges.
With a strong focus on innovation, AIHS 2025 is expected to drive forward the conversation around digital construction technologies, affordable housing financing models, and sustainability in building designs. The event aims to be the largest housing and construction summit in Africa, setting the tone for the next phase of industry transformation.
