Popular sports betting company, BetKing, has extended its support beyond gaming by providing free healthcare, food, and maternal support services to underserved communities across Nigeria. This initiative, which the company tagged “Month of Good,” ran from May 17 to June 17, 2025, and was part of BetKing’s annual corporate social responsibility campaign aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable Nigerians.
In a statement released by the company, BetKing said it focused on communities in Lagos, Osun, Abia, and Bayelsa states, deploying mobile clinics to reach people in remote and semi-urban areas. These clinics offered services such as medical consultations, health screenings, and free treatment for common illnesses.
Chief Executive Officer of BetKing, Mr. Gossy Ukanwoke, said the outreach was designed to reflect the company’s values, stressing that the brand’s impact goes beyond business and betting.
“At BetKing, our impact goes beyond the business. We are committed to serving our communities and empowering those who need it most. The ‘Month of Good’ reflects our values, providing real help, creating access, and improving lives,” Ukanwoke said.
One of the key highlights of the 2025 campaign was maternal healthcare. BetKing provided prenatal care services, including nutrition support, hygiene kits, and medications, to over 500 pregnant women. These services were delivered at various centres, including the Iga Idungaran Primary Health Centre in Adeniji, Lagos Island, and similar health centres in Osun, Abia, and Bayelsa states.
According to BetKing, the outreach also included malaria tests, eye screenings, blood pressure monitoring, and public health education sessions. The company revealed that these sessions were supported by licensed healthcare professionals and BetKing staff who volunteered alongside local community agents.
“We believe everyone deserves quality healthcare, regardless of where they live or their financial status. Our mobile clinics helped us take these vital services directly to the people who need them the most,” the statement added.
The company’s CSR campaign was not limited to medical care. It also included a food and clothing drive to help ease the hardship faced by low-income families. BetKing staff were involved in the distribution of food packs to thousands of households, as well as pre-owned clothing to individuals in need.
From Irewole in Osun to Yenagoa in Bayelsa, residents expressed gratitude for the outreach, which many described as timely and impactful. Some beneficiaries said the programme helped reduce their financial burden at a time when the cost of living is rising.
A woman in Lagos who benefitted from the maternal aid programme said, “I haven’t had the chance to attend antenatal for months because of the cost of transport and drugs. Today, I got all I needed for free. God bless them.”
BetKing also noted that its larger BetKing Cares campaign, which the Month of Good is part of, has reached over 40 communities across Nigeria. The initiative continues to focus on health, education, and economic support.
The company stated that as it grows its operations, it would continue to support local communities through targeted social initiatives. It reaffirmed its commitment to bridging the healthcare access gap and reducing poverty in disadvantaged areas.
BetKing, established in 2018, has quickly risen to become one of Nigeria’s most recognised sports betting platforms. While best known for its gaming products, the firm says its social mission has become a key part of its identity, with CSR projects aimed at leaving lasting positive change in Nigerian society.
