Polaris Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment and social inclusion by supporting the 2025 Maracana Children’s Fest, a grassroots event that impacted over 3,000 young Nigerians in Ajegunle, Lagos State. The festival, held at the iconic Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle, was organised by the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation and brought together primary and secondary school pupils, students, families, and community leaders for a day of sports, creativity, and community bonding.
Polaris Bank played a pivotal role in supporting the event by providing meals, palliative food packages, and assorted mementoes distributed to participants and their families. This support underlines the bank’s dedication to uplifting underserved communities through sustainable social initiatives.
Managing Director of Polaris Bank, Kayode Lawal, represented by the Head of Brand Management & Corporate Communication, Rasheed Bolarinwa, said the sponsorship reflects Polaris Bank’s strategic focus on social responsibility. He stated, “We are proud to support the Maracana Children’s Fest and contribute to such a meaningful community initiative. This event allowed us to connect with the next generation and their families, promoting both youth development and financial inclusion.”
Lawal further noted that the bank’s involvement is part of a broader commitment to social investment, with youth empowerment, education, and financial inclusion remaining central to its sustainability agenda. “Our support for this event is a reflection of Polaris Bank’s commitment to supporting communities and empowering young people through initiatives that align with our values,” he said.
The festival was graced by notable dignitaries, including seven former Super Eagles players, whose presence added excitement and inspiration for the children. Their involvement amplified the significance of the event and fostered a greater sense of community pride among residents of Ajegunle and beyond.
The Maracana Children’s Fest has become a beacon of hope for many children in the area, combining sports with education and life skills to nurture the next generation. For Polaris Bank, this partnership with the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation aligns with its vision of being a socially responsible institution that champions the well-being of Nigerian communities.
Polaris Bank assured that it would continue to engage in projects that positively impact society, with a sustained focus on education, youth empowerment, and financial literacy across Nigeria.
