Axxela Limited, a leading gas and power portfolio company, has been certified by the Great Place to Work Institute for its strong workplace culture and commitment to employee wellbeing.
In a statement issued on Monday, the company said the certification followed a comprehensive assessment of its organisational culture, employee experience, and corporate values, affirming Axxela’s reputation for promoting inclusivity and trust within its workforce.
During a presentation ceremony held in Lagos, the certification was officially handed to Axxela’s Executive Management Team, led by the Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Timothy Ononiwu.
Ononiwu said the recognition reflected the company’s 25-year journey of building a culture rooted in trust, collaboration, and mutual respect.
“This certification echoes our collective commitment to fostering a workplace defined by trust, mutual respect, and growth. Our people are dedicated, hard-working, and smart. We continue to support them by fostering an inclusive, respectful, and high-performance culture that empowers every employee to thrive, grow, and feel truly valued,” he said.
Speaking at the event, Country Manager of the Great Place to Work Institute Nigeria, Mr. Otamere Elegon, said that trust plays a critical role in organisational performance and employee engagement.
“When trust is strong, collaboration flows naturally, ideas thrive, and business benefits directly. Beyond today’s recognition, our hope is to help organisations like Axxela deepen engagement by listening to employees and improving their overall experience,” Elegon stated.
The statement added that the certification further strengthens Axxela’s reputation as an employer of choice in the energy sector. It highlights the company’s continued focus on employee wellbeing, talent development, and sustainable energy growth across Africa.
Founded over two decades ago, Axxela operates across Nigeria’s gas and power value chain, providing energy solutions that support industrialisation and economic development. The company said it remains committed to creating an enabling environment where employees can innovate and contribute to Africa’s clean energy future.
