ACTIF2025 Seals $300m Africa-Caribbean Trade and Investment Deals

The Fourth AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF2025) ended in Grenada with over US $300 million in deals signed and a strong commitment to deepen Africa–Caribbean collaboration.

Co-hosted by Afreximbank and the Government of Grenada, the two-day forum brought together over 2,100 delegates from 80 countries, including 11 Heads of State and Government, business leaders, and development partners. Eight major agreements were signed, covering infrastructure, tourism, digital transformation, and trade finance.

Key deals included a US $100 million infrastructure facility for Bahamas Striping Group, a US $50 million climate-linked education project in Saint Kitts and Nevis, a US $61.25 million hotel financing in Barbados, and a US $40 million commercial port development in Saint Kitts and Nevis. Other agreements focused on SME development, trade finance, and digital transformation partnerships.

Leaders called for visa-free travel, integrated payment systems, stronger air and maritime links, and a formal Africa–Caribbean free trade arrangement. The forum’s communiqué also endorsed the proposed Global Africa Commission, to be considered at the AU–CARICOM Summit in September.

Afreximbank President Prof. Benedict Oramah was honoured with a symbolic flamboyant tree planting in recognition of his leadership in advancing Africa–Caribbean ties.
