The Business Verge Awards has announced that it will hold its next major celebration of African entrepreneurship in the first week of December 2025. The organisers said the event will bring together top founders, innovators, business leaders and changemakers from across the continent, creating a platform to recognise excellence and inspire collaboration within Africa’s growing business and technology ecosystem.
In a statement, the organising team explained that the 2025 edition is designed not only to celebrate outstanding achievements but also to highlight new opportunities shaping the future of African enterprise. They noted that the awards will continue to promote stories of resilience, creativity and leadership, especially at a time when entrepreneurship remains a key driver of economic growth across the continent.
The committee announced that the upcoming edition will feature 10 major award categories. These include African Startup Business of the Year, Enterprise Award, Rising Founder of the Year, Excellence in Fintech Award and Female Founder of the Year. Others are the Social Impact and Sustainability Award, Business Leader of the Year, Community Impact Award, Creative and Business of the Year and the People’s Choice Award.
According to the organisers, the award categories are structured to showcase excellence across multiple industries, from finance and technology to creative businesses, community development and sustainability. They added that recognising a diverse group of entrepreneurs helps encourage innovation and strengthen Africa’s position in the global business space.
The organisers recalled that the maiden edition of the Business Verge Awards, which took place in January 2025, set a strong foundation by honouring exceptional entrepreneurs from different sectors. They described the first event as a milestone that raised the bar for African award platforms dedicated to celebrating homegrown innovation. With the upcoming 2025 edition, they said the stage is set for an even more vibrant celebration.
The team also confirmed that nominations are now open. Entrepreneurs, founders, business leaders and innovators who have been operating for at least one year and maintain an active social media presence are eligible. They encouraged individuals and organisations across Africa to submit nominations, stressing that the awards provide a unique opportunity to spotlight individuals building impactful and scalable ventures.
The organisers expressed confidence that the December 2025 edition will help strengthen connections among business communities across Africa. They added that bringing industry players together under one roof will encourage collaboration, spark new partnerships and deepen conversations on the future of entrepreneurship across the continent.
They further noted that the awards ceremony will continue to position African entrepreneurs as global competitors who are driving progress through creativity, technology, sustainability and community-focused solutions. According to them, the Business Verge Awards aims to become one of the most influential platforms for recognising outstanding achievements and motivating a new generation of African leaders.
