Editorial Policy

by Radarr Africa

Radarr Africa’s editorial decisions are made by The Radarr Africa Editorial Team. This page explains the standards every story we publish must meet.

Accuracy and verification

  • We report facts we can support. Figures, quotes and claims are checked against original sources such as company filings, regulator statements, official data and on-record interviews.
  • When we rely on another publication’s reporting, we say so and name the source in the story.
  • When we cannot independently confirm a figure or claim, we say that clearly in the story.

Sourcing and attribution

  • Every quote is attributed to a named person or organisation. We use anonymous sources only when the information is important and cannot be obtained on record, and the editor knows the source’s identity.
  • We link to original documents and announcements where they are publicly available.

Independence

  • Advertisers, sponsors and the owner do not decide what we cover or how we report it.
  • Staff and contributors must tell the editor about any personal or financial interest in a story they work on.

Paid and sponsored content

Radarr Africa earns revenue from advertising, sponsored articles, sponsored interviews and press release distribution. To keep this separate from our journalism:

  • Every paid article or interview is clearly labelled Sponsored or Partner Content at the top of the page.
  • Press releases appear in our Press Office section and are labelled as press releases.
  • Paid content is never presented as independent reporting.

Use of technology

Our journalists use digital tools, including AI tools, to help with research, drafting and editing. Every story is reviewed, fact-checked and approved by a member of the editorial team before it is published, and the editorial team is responsible for everything we publish.

Fairness

When a story makes serious claims about a person or organisation, we make reasonable efforts to contact them for comment before publishing and include their response.

Opinion

Opinion and contributor pieces are labelled as opinion. They reflect the views of the writer, not Radarr Africa.
