Former Pension Boss, Maina, Extradited To Nigeria

The Nigeria Police Force(NPF) has arrested and extradited Abdulraseed Abdullahi Maina, the former chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), to Nigeria from Niamey, Niger Republic.

Miana upon arrival at the Nnamdi Azikwe international airport in Abuja at 1417 hours (Nigerian time) was escorted to a police vehicle.

Recall that Mr Maina has been wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged money laundering worth N2 billion pensions biometric scam in the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

Maina was arrested on 30th November 2020 through the collaborative efforts of the operatives of (NPF), INTERPOL NCB, Abuja and their Nigerien counterpart.

Maina, who has seen then missed four different court sessions, was placed on the EFCC wanted list on its website on 6th of November, 2015 and subsequently on the International Police wanted list.

The inspector general of police, Mohammed Adamu, applauded the trans-national/inter-agency collaborations that led to the arrest and extradition of the wanted fugitive disclosed that necessary legal actions will follow immediately.
