Itel Solar Energy has launched its first official sales and service hub in Nigeria, setting up shop at the popular Alaba International Market in Lagos. The company said the move is part of its mission to provide affordable, reliable solar energy solutions to Nigerian households and small businesses facing chronic power shortages.
Announcing the opening on Monday, Itel Solar Energy said the new hub is expected to serve as a central point for customers to access its products and services. Located in one of the busiest electronics markets in West Africa, the company hopes to leverage Alaba’s high foot traffic to increase adoption of clean, cost-effective energy solutions.
The newly launched facility offers a range of solar products including solar panels, inverters, batteries, and full home systems. It also provides installation services and after-sales support to ensure customers enjoy seamless access to power. The launch event drew attention from industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and market stakeholders, with live demonstrations and expert guidance on solar adoption.
Olaotan Fawehinmi, Public Relations Manager at Itel Solar Energy, said at the event: “We are excited to bring Itel Solar Energy’s affordable and reliable solar solutions to Alaba Market. What sets us apart is not just price but the solid quality of our products and our deep commitment to customer service.”
He added that Itel offers a three-year replacement warranty on its inverters and a five-year replacement warranty on its batteries. “That’s something you don’t often see in this market,” he noted. The company’s Carlcare service centre, located in the same building, provides immediate after-sales support. According to Fawehinmi, Carlcare centres are already present in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, giving customers nationwide coverage.
The company also introduced its All-in-One solar systems, including plug-and-play models such as the 3.6kWh and 500W solar kits. These systems are tailored for homes, shops, and SMEs that require simple, fast-to-deploy alternatives to Nigeria’s unreliable power grid.
“Our solutions are easy to use, easy to install, and low-maintenance. They offer a clean alternative to noisy, fuel-guzzling generators and erratic public power supply,” Fawehinmi said.
Nigeria has long struggled with electricity generation and distribution challenges, leaving many individuals and businesses to rely on generators or seek alternative power sources. The entry of Itel Solar Energy into the local solar market adds to the growing number of firms tapping into the country’s unmet energy demand, especially among small and medium enterprises.
