Kenyan MP Bernard Kitur Raises Alarm Over Alleged International Organ-Harvesting syndicate

Nandi Hills Member of Parliament, Bernard Kitur, has publicly stated that his life is in danger after exposing an alleged international organ-harvesting syndicate operating in Kenya. In a recent address to the National Assembly Health Committee, Kitur described a disturbing incident where his vehicle was allegedly trailed and blocked by individuals in a car linked to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), which he believes was an intimidation attempt.

Kitur claims the syndicate targets vulnerable young men, particularly from single-parent families, luring them with promises of quick money before harvesting their organs. He alleges that victims are issued fake identification documents and stripped of their legal identities. The MP has called on the government to dismantle the network and provide compensation to survivors.

The DCI has initiated an investigation into these allegations, focusing on a medical facility in Eldoret associated with the Fertility and Transplant Centre. The Transnational Organised Crime Unit is leading the probe, and the public has been urged to come forward with any relevant information.

This development has raised significant concerns about the prevalence of illegal organ trafficking in Kenya, with reports indicating that young men are being offered substantial sums to sell their kidneys. However, many donors reportedly receive far less than promised, and some have faced serious health complications following the procedures.

The National Assembly Health Committee has committed to a thorough investigation into these allegations, with the Inspector General of Police and other top security officials expected to be summoned to provide clarity on the matter.

The case has drawn international attention to the issue of organ trafficking in Africa, highlighting the need for stringent regulations and enforcement to protect vulnerable populations from exploitation
