Ghana is reshaping its aviation landscape as authorities move to repurpose Terminal 2 of the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) to accommodate both domestic and international flight operations.
The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) confirmed that the transformation is part of efforts to ease congestion and improve operational efficiency at the bustling airport. Terminal 2, which previously served mainly domestic flights, is now being upgraded to serve a dual purpose in response to growing passenger traffic.
Aviation stakeholders say the development is a strategic move that aligns with Ghana’s ambition to become a major air transport hub in West Africa. The upgrade is also expected to improve customer experience and streamline flight operations.
