The Lagos State Government, in collaboration with Marketing Analytics Africa (MAA), has announced plans to host the 2025 African Marketing Technology & E-commerce Conference (AMTEC), a major continental gathering aimed at deepening collaboration between brands, marketers, and investors.
The conference, themed “Marketing in the New Economy: Data-Driven Success in Challenging Times”, is scheduled to take place on May 24, 2025, at the Landmark Events & Conference Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos. It is expected to bring together top executives, marketing professionals, and technology innovators to discuss how data and digital strategies can reshape the African business landscape.
According to a statement released on Tuesday, the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) said the conference supports the state’s broader goal of creating a vibrant, technology-driven economy that promotes entrepreneurship and job creation.
The Fund said the collaboration with MAA is a strategic move to establish Lagos as a key hub for marketing technology and digital commerce in Africa. The event is expected to boost Lagos’ profile as a leader in tech-driven business and innovation across the continent.
Victor Ojeakhena, Co-founder and CEO of Marketing Analytics Africa, said AMTEC has become an annual platform for thought leaders, executives, and data experts to discuss trends shaping Africa’s marketing and e-commerce sectors. He explained that the 2025 edition will focus on how brands can thrive despite economic uncertainties.
“Our goal is to help brands navigate complex market dynamics with data-driven strategies, build meaningful partnerships, and drive scalable growth,” Ojeakhena said.
AMTEC 2025 has already secured the participation of high-profile corporate partners and speakers, including executives from Colgate, Sterling Bank, First Bank, DStv Nigeria, Indomie, and the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON).
Notable speakers expected at the event include Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, Chief Executive Officer of ARCON, and Maurice Igugu, Chief Marketing Officer of Sterling Bank. Both are scheduled to lead discussions on marketing regulations, customer experience, and the importance of technology in delivering value to African consumers.
The organisers said the conference will serve as more than just a knowledge-sharing platform. It will also provide networking opportunities for professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors, encouraging collaboration on innovative ideas and solutions that can reshape the African economy.
In recent years, Lagos has emerged as a leading destination for tech and digital business events, thanks to its large consumer base, growing startup ecosystem, and government policies supporting innovation. Hosting AMTEC 2025 is expected to further reinforce this status and attract more investment to the marketing and e-commerce space.
The event’s focus on data intelligence, customer engagement, and emerging technologies aligns with ongoing efforts to improve how businesses interact with consumers in a digital-first economy.
