Lagos Young Entrepreneur Awards Set To Celebrate Rising Entrepreneurs in September

The sixth edition of the Lagos Young Entrepreneur Awards is set to take place this September in Lagos. The award aims to celebrate young people who are making a big difference in their businesses and helping to grow the state’s economy. The announcement was made in a statement on Monday by the organisers, A List Events and Entertainment Company.

The Awards, popularly called Layeawards, will appreciate hard-working young people who are contributing to making Lagos the fifth largest economy in Africa. The event is meant to motivate the next generation of business leaders and show the important role that young people can play in developing their communities.

The award ceremony will come with many exciting segments, including mentoring sessions, lectures, pageantry, the launch of a special magazine, entertainment by top Nigerian musicians and comedians, and the award presentations across different categories.

The Chief Executive Officer and Creative Director of Layeawards, Oluwanisola Ashifat, explained in the statement that the award has become a well-known platform for recognising creativity and hard work in young people. “Layeawards has grown over the years into a strong platform that highlights innovations by young people and makes sure both individuals and businesses get more visibility. The event brings people together in a special way, helping them connect with a larger market and reach their goals.”

Ashifat further explained that this year’s awards will not only celebrate achievements but also help the public appreciate the roles these young people are playing in developing their businesses and adding to the growth of the state’s and country’s economies.

He stated that the awards will collaborate with government agencies, non-governmental organisations, companies, and rich people who want to sponsor or support the event. “We aim to work with stakeholders who care about education, enterprise, employment and youth development. Through this collaboration, we will empower more young people to pursue their goals and create opportunities for future generations.”

The organisers made it clear that the award ceremony will celebrate not just young people but also businesses and organizations making an impact in their sectors. There will be special recognitions for outstanding philanthropists and companies that are contributing positively to their communities.

Ashifat called on the public to put forward the names of young entrepreneurs under the age of 50 who have made a huge mark in their industries. “If you know a young person who is hard-working, forward-thinking, and making a change in their community, we want you to nominate them for the award. It’s a way to appreciate their effort and show them we value their contribution.”

He added that the closing date for submission of nominees is 15th of July. The award ceremony will follow in September, although the exact date will be made public later. The organisers have assured everyone that the process for choosing the award winners will be clear and fair, reflecting the true achievements of the nominees.

This award is not just about recognising achievements; it is meant to motivate other young people to pursue their goals and become innovators, job creators and contributors to a growing and thriving Lagos. The event is expected to bring together stakeholders from all sectors, from education and business to entertainment and philanthropy, making it a rich opportunity for networking, collaboration and future partnerships.

As the award draws closer, the organisers are making sure everything is in place to celebrate the hard-working people who are shaping the future of their state and country. It promises to be a remarkable evening filled with stories of success, creativity, hard work and hope for a better future.
