Libya’s NOC Reports Stable Oil, Gas Output

The National Oil Corporation (NOC), Libya’s state-owned body in charge of managing and regulating the country’s vital oil and gas sector, has released new figures showing steady production levels for the period under review.

According to data from the institution, crude oil output reached 1,371,717 barrels, while condensate production stood at 51,278 barrels. In addition, natural gas production was recorded at 2.531 billion cubic feet. These figures highlight relative stability in production operations despite the political and security challenges the country continues to face.

Oil and gas remain the backbone of Libya’s economy, providing the largest share of government revenues and foreign exchange earnings. Any disruption in production can have a direct impact on the country’s fiscal stability, making the steady output particularly significant.

The NOC plays a critical role in sustaining these levels by overseeing exploration, extraction, and export activities, as well as managing partnerships with international oil companies. Maintaining stable production not only supports the domestic economy but also ensures that Libya continues to meet its obligations to global energy markets.

Analysts note that with global oil prices experiencing volatility, Libya’s ability to keep output steady could help protect government revenues and allow for better economic planning. However, the sector remains vulnerable to disruptions from infrastructure damage, political disputes, and security risks in key production areas.

The NOC has previously stressed its commitment to improving infrastructure, enhancing operational efficiency, and working with international partners to secure long-term investment in the sector. Officials have also called for political stability and unified governance as essential factors in safeguarding Libya’s energy production.

The latest production figures reflect cautious optimism that the oil and gas industry can continue to operate without major interruptions, providing a lifeline for Libya’s fragile economy.
