MPOWER Financing, a mission-driven fintech firm and the leading provider of education loans to high-promise international students in the United States and Canada, has partnered with Flutterwave, an Africa-focused global payments technology company, to make the application and payment process for international students from Africa as simple as possible. MPOWER partners with over 350 leading colleges in the United States and Canada to give no-cosigner loans to students from more than 200 countries, including many in Africa.

According to Open Doors, there are almost 400,000 African students studying in the United States. Nigeria accounts for more than half of the population and is Africa’s fastest-growing demographic.

“As interest in acquiring a North American education grows throughout Africa, we are thrilled to partner with Flutterwave to make the entire process, from application to payment, easier for aspiring students,” stated Manu Smadja, CEO of MPOWER Financing. “There is so much ingenuity happening on the continent, and part of our mission is to assist promising students by providing them with the tools they need to succeed.” We’re happy to collaborate with another business that shares our essential values.”

“At Flutterwave, we’re always seeking innovative client solutions that go beyond payment technology,” said Munya Chiura, Flutterwave’s Head of Growth for the Rest of Africa. Our mission is similar to MPOWER’s, as both groups are concerned about increasing educational access. Flutterwave will provide a seamless payment experience for bright students on the continent who may not have been aware that they can apply for funding with this unique student finance company.”
