The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has named a new eight-man senior management team, following the appointment of Bayo Ojulari as the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) and the reconstitution of the board of directors.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC, Olufemi Soneye, on Friday night. The appointments, according to the statement, take immediate effect.

The newly appointed team will work under the leadership of Mr Bayo Ojulari. Key members include Rowland Ewubare as Group Chief Operating Officer, Adedapo Segun as Group Chief Financial Officer, and Olalekan Ogunleye as Executive Vice President for Gas, Power & New Energy.

Others on the team are Udy Ntia, Executive Vice President for Upstream; Mumuni Dangazau, Executive Vice President for Downstream; Sophia Mbakwe, Executive Vice President for Business Services; and Adesua Dozie, Company Secretary and Chief Legal Officer.

The new appointments follow the sack of the former GCEO, Mele Kyari, and board chairman, Pius Akinyelure, by President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday. The President also approved the appointment of Ahmadu Kida as the new non-executive Chairman of the NNPC board.

Presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, stated that the President directed the new board to immediately begin a strategic review of NNPC’s assets and joint ventures to ensure they align with national value and profit goals.
