Former Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is restoring stability and hope to Nigeria through his leadership style and policies.
Okowa made this known on Monday in Abuja during a national summit organised by the Integrity Group of Nigeria (IGN), with the theme “Renew Hope Agenda through Continuity.”
Speaking through his former Special Adviser on National Assembly and Inter-Governmental Relationships, Pascal Adigwe, Okowa commended Tinubu’s approach to governance. He said the President had shown commitment to taking responsibility for the country, unlike some past leaders.
He described Tinubu as an “action president” who has been making tough decisions, adding that though the reforms may seem difficult, they are already producing positive results.
“Tinubu is bringing stability. He’s bringing back hope. He’s taking the bull by the horn. He’s not talking about past governments or shifting blame. He promised Nigeria that he will take responsibility, and that is what he is doing,” Okowa said.
The former governor also expressed full support for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. He noted that the President had demonstrated seriousness and the ability to deliver, stressing that continuity would allow Nigerians to fully benefit from his policies.
“We have come, not with liability but assets to make what you have built better. We are coming with experience, with knowledge of the terrain. We are coming with love, and with resources to make Nigeria better,” Okowa added.
He called on political support groups across the country to begin early preparations for Tinubu’s second term, insisting that he deserves the mandate in 2027.
Earlier at the summit, the Convener and National Chairman of the Integrity Group of Nigeria, Dr Oke Idawene, also praised Tinubu’s performance. He said the President assumed office prepared and had been focused on policies aimed at securing prosperity for Nigeria.
“The message of this afternoon is clear: never again shall we allow those who are stealing Nigeria’s prosperity to lead us. Tinubu came prepared. Today, students have access to loans and security is improving,” Idawene said.
He added that progressive governors under the All Progressives Congress (APC) were already laying the foundation for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, based on the achievements recorded so far.
Senator Binta Garba, who also spoke at the event, recalled that when Tinubu assumed power, the country was struggling in several areas. She said his policies had helped turn things around and expressed optimism that continuity in 2027 would strengthen the renewed hope initiative.
“Continuity will make Nigeria a better country. Nigerians should support the renewed hope agenda for long-term stability,” Garba said.
Former Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, also urged Nigerians to pray for the President and give him all the needed support. She highlighted recent APC victories in by-elections and Nigerian girls winning laurels in international sports competitions as early signs of positive progress under Tinubu’s leadership.
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Prof. Nora Daduut, who served as the mother of the day, commended the organisers of the summit. She encouraged members of the Integrity Group, especially women, to continue spreading the renewed hope initiative and keep the message alive.
The summit brought together several political leaders and stakeholders who collectively pledged support for Tinubu’s policies and leadership style. They agreed that continuity in 2027 would help consolidate the reforms already taking shape in Nigeria’s economy, education, and security sectors.
As the political season gradually builds toward 2027, groups such as the Integrity Group of Nigeria are expected to play active roles in mobilising support and strengthening the message of continuity for the ruling APC.
