Packaging Industry Leaders Set to Gather in Lagos for 12th Propak West Africa Exhibition

Plans are in top gear for the 12th edition of Propak West Africa, one of the region’s largest exhibitions and conferences focused on packaging, plastics, printing and processing industries. The event is scheduled to hold from September 9 to 11, 2025 at the Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The three-day exhibition is being organised by Afrocet Montgomery Group, and it is expected to attract over 5,500 visitors from across 35 countries, making it one of the most significant trade and business platforms for industry players in the sub-region. According to Jamie Pearson, Marketing and Operations Director at Afrocet Montgomery, this year’s edition will centre on how to shape the future of packaging in West Africa, with particular attention to access to finance and industrial growth in the sector.

The conference will explore the theme: “Lifecycle Data Management for Sustainable Packaging Systems.” Experts will discuss how data can be used across packaging lifecycles to drive efficiency, innovation, and sustainability.

In addition to exhibitions and live demos, the conference will feature panel discussions and presentations on topics ranging from circular economy strategies, materials innovation, automation, and financing tools for small and large manufacturers.

Over 250 global brands are confirmed to showcase cutting-edge products and machinery during the event. Some of the notable exhibitors include BBM Maschinenbau, Krones AG, Milacron India, Piovan Group, Neofyton, Reifenhauser Blown, Danfra Solutions, and deco Project Engineering. Nigerian companies such as Veepee Group, SBA Nigeria, JMG Limited, Stav Limited, Beaumont Industrial Services, and Proxima will also feature prominently, reinforcing local capacity in the packaging value chain.

Other notable exhibitors include E-One Machinery, Ankan Group of Companies, and a wide range of industrial solutions providers targeting both upstream and downstream players.

KPMG Nigeria is partnering as a strategic advisor for the exhibition and is expected to provide thought leadership on financing options and regulatory updates that could affect investment and operations in the packaging sector.

Over the years, Propak West Africa has built a reputation as a leading platform for business networking, technology transfer, and investment promotion across West Africa’s industrial landscape. With the focus now expanding to sustainable packaging and access to industrial finance, this year’s edition is anticipated to draw attention from policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs, and multinational manufacturers.

As environmental concerns grow, the industry is seeing a shift towards eco-friendly materials and green technologies, and exhibitors will be expected to unveil innovations aligned with global sustainability standards. From biodegradable packaging to smart labelling systems, the exhibition floor promises a broad spectrum of trends shaping the future of packaging in Nigeria and the wider sub-region.

With Nigeria’s fast-growing consumer market and its increasing demand for processed foods, beverages, and pharmaceuticals, analysts believe the packaging industry is poised for significant growth, provided critical enablers such as infrastructure, funding, and skilled workforce are adequately addressed.

In line with this, the event will also include business matchmaking, training sessions, and dedicated finance clinics to help local manufacturers and SMEs understand funding opportunities from development finance institutions and commercial banks.

The 12th Propak West Africa is expected to further solidify Lagos’ position as a regional hub for industrial exhibitions and a meeting point for forward-thinking businesses seeking to expand into West Africa’s emerging markets.
