TotalEnergies Unveils Mobility Card Plus to Boost Secure Payments and Fleet Management in Nigeria

by Radarr Africa

TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria Plc has launched a new payment and mobility solution known as the TotalEnergies Mobility Card Plus, also called TEMC+, as part of its efforts to improve secure transactions, digital control and convenience for individuals and businesses across Nigeria. The company said the new card is a technology-driven upgrade designed to meet the growing needs of customers in a fast-changing digital economy, especially fleet operators and corporate organisations that manage multiple vehicles and fuel expenses.

The unveiling of the Mobility Card Plus took place on Tuesday in Lagos, where company officials explained that the new platform combines advanced digital features with stronger security tools that allow customers to manage their accounts and transactions in real time. According to TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria Plc, the TEMC+ is positioned to set a new standard for mobility payments by offering improved transparency, flexibility and ease of use for both personal and business customers.

The launch also marks the beginning of a nationwide migration from the existing TotalEnergies cards to the new TEMC+ platform. The company disclosed that the migration process is already ongoing and is expected to be completed by 31 December 2025. During this period, customers will receive guidance and technical support to ensure a smooth transition without disrupting their daily operations.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria Plc, Dr Samba Seye, said the introduction of the new Mobility Card Plus reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction and safer mobility solutions. He was represented at the launch by the General Manager, Retail and Cards, Abdullahi Umar, who delivered his remarks.

Dr Seye explained that the TEMC+ platform was developed to respond to the demands of the digital era and the changing expectations of customers who now require faster, more secure and more flexible payment options. He noted that the company’s goal has always been to make mobility smarter, safer and more convenient for everyone, from individual motorists to large fleet operators.

According to him, the new Mobility Card Plus offers customers greater control over their spending and accounts, while also improving security through digital monitoring and instant alerts. He described the platform as more than just a fuel or mobility card, but a comprehensive digital solution built to simplify operations and enhance the overall customer experience.

Dr Seye added that the launch was not only about introducing a new product, but also about reinforcing TotalEnergies’ focus on innovation and long-term customer value. He said customers would benefit from live demonstrations, guided sessions on how to manage their digital accounts, and continuous support throughout the migration process to the new card.

Providing further details on the features of the TEMC+, the Project Manager for the Mobility Card Plus, Mr Osarobo Aigbogun, said the upgrade was developed based on direct feedback from customers across different sectors. He explained that the new card represents an improvement and evolution of the existing Total Card, rather than a complete replacement.

Mr Aigbogun said the company listened closely to users and returned to the drawing board to design a solution that addresses real challenges faced by customers, especially businesses managing fleets and fuel expenses. He noted that the TEMC+ introduces three flexible payment options, which include card payment, mobile app payment and one-time password payment. This ensures that customers can complete transactions even in areas with limited or no internet access.

He also highlighted that fleet managers now have access to a dedicated online extranet that allows them to manage their accounts in real time. Through this platform, fleet operators can blacklist or whitelist cards, set and adjust card limits, transfer funds between cards, fund wallets instantly, generate personal identification numbers, and unblock cards without the need to contact TotalEnergies customer service.

Other features of the Mobility Card Plus include secure online transactions, mobile application integration for real-time visibility of accounts, pre-authorisation to ensure accurate fuel dispensing, instant SMS alerts for transactions, virtual card options and the ability to reallocate funds on the spot. According to Mr Aigbogun, these features are designed to improve efficiency, reduce delays and simplify reconciliation for businesses.

He stressed that with the new platform, funds credited to accounts are available immediately for use, which improves agility and supports smoother operations for companies that depend on timely fuel access. He added that the TEMC+ is expected to support better financial control and transparency for businesses, while also offering convenience and peace of mind to individual users.

TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria Plc said the introduction of the Mobility Card Plus aligns with its broader strategy to support digital payments, improve customer experience and contribute to the modernisation of Nigeria’s mobility and energy services sector. The company reaffirmed its commitment to supporting customers throughout the transition period and ensuring that the new platform delivers value across different segments of the Nigerian market.
