Niboro Hails Oborevwori’s Development Strides in Delta

Renowned journalist and former Presidential Spokesman, Olorogun Ima Niboro, has praised the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for what he described as a “truly executive” style of leadership that is bringing visible transformation to the state.

Niboro made these remarks after a breakfast meeting with the governor, highlighting the governor’s focus on tangible development projects rather than mere political showmanship.

The former Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) noted that Oborevwori’s leadership approach has brought a refreshing sense of purpose to governance in Delta State. He described the governor as witty, warm, highly intelligent, and deeply committed to the progress of his people.

“I use the phrase ‘truly executive’ deliberately and intentionally,” Niboro wrote in his post, “because there were and still are ‘ceremonial governors’ in certain states across the nation. But what I see in Delta today is real governance driven by results.”

According to him, Oborevwori’s strong push for infrastructural renewal and sustainable development has revived the hope of many Deltans who once prayed for visible progress in their state. He said the governor’s commitment to matching increased federal allocations with well-planned and well-funded projects is evident in the current pace of development across the state.

“Governor Oborevwori has taken steps to ensure that every naira coming into Delta is put to work for the people. What we are seeing now is a government that has shifted from politics to governance, from promises to action,” Niboro said.

He added that during their discussion, the governor spoke confidently about the future of Delta State, assuring that the state would experience even greater achievements in the coming months. “Delta ain’t seen nothing yet! Bigger, much bigger things are coming,” the governor reportedly said during the meeting.

Niboro ended his statement by reaffirming his respect for the governor and his administration. “If he didn’t earn it, you won’t see me a hundred miles near him,” he declared, underscoring his belief that the governor’s performance so far has been commendable and worthy of recognition.

Governor Oborevwori, who assumed office with the MORE Agenda, has prioritized sustainable infrastructure, responsive governance, and equitable development across the three senatorial districts of Delta State. His administration is currently focusing on road construction, urban renewal, education, and health sector improvements as part of efforts to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.

Political observers note that this endorsement from Niboro, a respected voice in the media and political space, adds to the growing list of commendations for the governor’s work since assuming office. While challenges remain, particularly in balancing development across both urban and rural areas, stakeholders have acknowledged the state government’s efforts to ensure inclusive growth and accountability in resource allocation.

Many Deltans are optimistic that the governor’s development-driven policies will continue to yield positive results, especially in the areas of job creation, improved infrastructure, and social welfare.
