The Adolor of Uwanno Kingdom, Senior High Chief Alex Alegieuno Omiogbemi, has received the prestigious Nigerian Soccer Ambassador Award in Abuja. The honour was in recognition of his years of selfless service, particularly his efforts in youth empowerment, grassroots development, and nation-building through education and community leadership.
The award presentation took place at Merit House, Abuja, and attracted key figures from Nigeria’s political, business, and civic sectors. Prominent among the dignitaries were the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu; House Majority Leader, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere; Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri; and the Deputy Speaker of Yobe State House of Assembly.
Also present were the APC National Women Leader, the President of the National Council of Women Societies of Nigeria, and Mrs. Susan Lokpobiri, wife of Nigeria’s Minister of Petroleum. Their attendance reflected the wide-reaching admiration and respect for Omiogbemi’s contributions to community development and youth engagement.
Other attendees included former Special Adviser to the President on the Niger Delta, Gen. Paul Boroh; Prince Vincent Okumagba, Chairman of the Interim Management Committee of the Nigeria Football and Other Sports Supporters Club; Engr. Rotimi Omoboriowo, Director-General of NIPSS; and Chief Daniel Osakwe. The event also brought together influential entrepreneurs and grassroots leaders such as Chef Jayne of Obudu Place, Chief Lucky Ohimai of Tarex Conglomerate, Hajiya Kafar Liameed of the Lagos State Football Association, Amb. Sammy Anistar Uche PhD, and Chief Okechukwu Don Nwuzor.
High Chief Omiogbemi was hailed for his unwavering commitment to social upliftment and patriotic service. As the President General of Emokhueme Community, he has led several development initiatives, including the establishment of the first-ever secondary school in the community—the Omiogbemi Secondary School. He also launched the Emokhueme Education Trust Fund, aimed at ensuring no child is left behind due to poverty. The Trust Fund is managed by a respected Board of Trustees chaired by Dr. (Engr.) Sir Kess Omiogbemi, with Prince Fidelis Ayiabe, Executive Chairman and MD of Fidson Pharmaceuticals, as Vice Chairman.
In the corporate world, Omiogbemi is the Group Managing Director of Rainbow Network Global Synergy Ltd., a growing Nigerian conglomerate with interests in oil and gas, construction, engineering, and hospitality. The company, under his leadership, has continued to expand while maintaining a strong focus on social impact.
He is also the founder of the Alex Alegieuno Omiogbemi Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering the poor through education, enterprise development, mentorship, and community service.
Beyond the borders of Nigeria, Omiogbemi holds the title of United Nations Peace Ambassador and is an active member of the International World Peace Advocates. Through these roles, he continues to promote peace, unity, and the importance of service in leadership.
Speaking at the event, he said the award was not just a personal milestone but a call to continue serving humanity with humility and passion. “This is for every young Nigerian who believes in building a better society from the ground up. It is also a reminder that with vision and service, we can uplift entire communities,” he said.
The award has further cemented Chief Omiogbemi’s legacy as a bridge between sports, social change, and community development in Nigeria. Stakeholders praised him for using football and education as tools to tackle poverty, promote peace, and foster nation-building.
