Meritabode Unveils Emerald Haven Estate to Tackle Nigeria’s Housing Deficit

by Radarr Africa

Meritabode Nigeria Limited, a top real estate company in the country, has launched a new estate project named Emerald Haven Estate to help reduce Nigeria’s growing housing deficit.

Speaking at the launch held in Lagos, the Chief Executive Officer of Meritabode, Mr. Oludotun Oseni, said the new project is part of the company’s effort to provide affordable housing for Nigerians. He said the country has a housing deficit of over 20 million, and the problem is made worse by issues such as high building costs, lack of access to land, and tough government policies.

Mr. Oseni called on the government to support the real estate sector by simplifying land documentation, reducing import tariffs on building materials, and encouraging development. “At Meritabode, we’re doing our part,” he said.

Emerald Haven Estate is located in the Lekki-Epe area of Lagos. The estate is planned as a modern smart city with residential, commercial, and recreational zones. Mr. Oseni said it will offer Nigerians a secure and comfortable place to live, with access to all basic amenities.

“We are not just building houses,” he added. “We are building communities. Nigerians want more than shelter; they want places where they can live, work, and grow.”

The estate will have recreational centres, places of worship, banks, and business spaces. It will also promote walking and green living, with infrastructure that supports future development.

Oseni said the estate’s location is strategic, as the southwest is seeing major growth with support from Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo governments working together on transport systems and regional development.

He advised Nigerians to invest in real estate, no matter their budget. “Start with what you can afford,” he said. “Today’s outskirts are tomorrow’s hot zones. If you didn’t buy yesterday, buy today.”

Veteran Nollywood actor and Meritabode brand ambassador, Prince Jide Kosoko, praised the company for its commitment. “Meritabode has developed over 30 estates across Nigeria. With Emerald Haven, they are offering more than land. They are offering trust and future security,” he said.

Also speaking, broadcaster and fellow ambassador Taiwo Akinsola encouraged people to invest. “Meritabode is reliable. They deliver what they promise. Emerald Haven is a wise choice for homebuyers and investors, both in Nigeria and abroad,” he said.

Roseline Duruaku, Head of Operations at Meritabode, said the estate was designed with the future in mind. Sales Manager, Mr. Victor Igbenoba, added that the estate is close to major developments like the Dangote Refinery, the Lekki Free Trade Zone, and the upcoming international airport. He said these will help increase the value of properties in the estate.

With the launch of Emerald Haven, Meritabode says it remains committed to bridging Nigeria’s housing gap, one estate at a time.
