Morocco’s OCP Partners With Italian Bedeschi for the storage fertilizer sulfur at phosbucraa

Morocco’s fertilizer giant OCP agreed on a deal which will see Italian engineering company Bedeschi operating as the group’s material handling partner for a new project.

OCP seeks the expertise of Beeschi to equip “three new automated storages,” converging reports on the new deal said.

The automated storage units include two for fertilizer and one for sulfur. The global storage capacity is estimated at 300,000 tones of equipment.

The equipment, including  material handling equipment for the storage of sulfur in import and the storage of fertilizer in export,  will be implemented in the Phosbucraa complex near Laayoune,  The equipment will also include reclaimers, conveyor belts, as well as trippers.

 OCP has been expanding its partnerships worldwide to boost its presence and offer fertilizer expertise.

Recently in September, the group announced its plan to purchase a 50% stake in Global Feed from major Spanish fertilizer producer Fertinagro Biotech.

The acquisition is part of OCP’s ambition to expand into the animal nutrition market sector.

OCP is responsible for the world’s largest phosphate reserves, recorded a revenue of $5.29 billion in the first half of 2022. Last year, the group’s turnover amounted to $9.4 billion.
