In a move to ensure stable electricity in Ondo State, Lincs Power Energy Solutions has joined hands with the state government to build a 5-megawatt power project. The project aims to provide steady electricity supply to residents, with future plans to expand its capacity to 20 megawatts.

The initiative was made possible by Mr. Olumbe Akinkugbe, a former Senior Special Assistant on ICT to ex-Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. At the groundbreaking ceremony held on Thursday, the project manager of Lincs Power Energy Solutions, Mr. Otinniyi Micheal, emphasized that the project would provide reliable power to the people of Ondo State and its surrounding areas.

Mr. Micheal lauded the governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for supporting the project. He also assured residents that the company would work hard to ensure the project is completed on time.

The facilitator of the project, Mr. Akinkugbe, stated that the power project would benefit Ondo West Local Government and its neighboring areas by driving economic development and improving residents’ quality of life. According to him, the partnership with Lincs Power Energy Solutions is a significant step towards solving the power supply challenges faced by the state.

“This groundbreaking event is the start of the construction phase. The company has promised to deliver as planned, and we are already making arrangements to expand the project to 20 megawatts in the near future,” Akinkugbe said.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, represented by his Special Adviser on Energy, Mr. Alabi Johnson, expressed gratitude to Mr. Akinkugbe for his relentless efforts in bringing the project to reality. He urged the community to support the initiative, stressing that stable electricity supply is essential for economic growth and improved living standards.

Residents of Ondo West expressed optimism that the power project would bring lasting solutions to the frequent electricity outages in the area. Many believe that access to stable electricity will boost small businesses, improve security, and attract more investments to the region.

Meanwhile, stakeholders in the power sector have commended the collaboration between the government and Lincs Power Energy Solutions, calling it a model for other states to follow. According to industry experts, such public-private partnerships will help address Nigeria’s persistent power supply issues.

As construction begins, residents and business owners in Ondo State eagerly await the completion of the project, hoping it will mark a new era of stable electricity supply in the region.
