SAP Launches New AI Tools to Transform Global Business Operations

by Radarr Africa

Global enterprise software company, SAP SE, has launched a new generation of artificial intelligence (AI) tools aimed at transforming how businesses operate across industries. The announcement was made at the company’s inaugural SAP Connect event, where the firm showcased how combining AI, data, and enterprise applications can deliver more value and improve decision-making for businesses worldwide.

At the centre of the unveiling is Joule, SAP’s advanced AI engine, which now includes a network of role-based AI assistants designed to work with humans across different business departments. SAP described the new AI system as a breakthrough in enterprise software, enabling employees to focus on insight and innovation while AI manages complex and repetitive processes.

In a statement shared on Thursday, SAP explained that each AI assistant “taps into the right agents for the job, configuring, orchestrating, and managing them so humans can focus on unlocking new levels of insight and productivity.”

Muhammad Alam, a member of the Executive Board of SAP SE, Product and Engineering, said the new tools represent the company’s vision for intelligent business transformation in today’s fast-changing environment.

“To thrive when volatility is the new normal, businesses need more than a patchwork of separate applications. Our announcements today demonstrate the power of SAP’s business suite, where AI, data, and applications come together to drive smarter decisions, faster execution, and scalable transformation,” Alam said.

SAP noted that the assistants in Joule are supported by a growing library of specialised Joule Agents, which help businesses execute complex tasks efficiently.

For example, a People Manager Assistant coordinates several specialised agents, including a new People Intelligence Agent, which can identify and resolve employee-related issues such as compensation anomalies. This is expected to support managers in improving team performance and fairness in the workplace.

Similarly, the new Financial Planning Assistant works with a set of expert agents such as the Cash Management Agent, which helps finance teams optimise cash flow and improve interest yields. These innovations are designed to help financial professionals make faster and more informed decisions.

SAP also introduced SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) Connect, a new platform that securely links SAP’s data systems with partner platforms to enable the bidirectional flow of business-ready data across various technologies.

With its zero-copy sharing capability, the company explained that data remains secure within SAP systems but is instantly accessible through customers’ existing data platforms. This allows users to preserve business context while avoiding the high costs associated with data duplication.

SAP named Databricks and Google Cloud as the first partners for SAP BDC Connect, promising that more technology partnerships will be announced soon. These collaborations will allow businesses to access data products faster for analytics and AI, helping them move from raw information to real-time business outcomes more efficiently.

Beyond data integration, SAP revealed a suite of AI-native applications built to tackle modern supply chain and customer engagement challenges. Among them is SAP Supply Chain Orchestration, which uses Joule’s AI power and a live knowledge graph to detect risks across supply networks and coordinate immediate responses.

The company also introduced SAP Engagement Cloud, a new tool that uses real-time business context to personalise communication with customers, suppliers, and partners. In addition, the next-generation SAP Ariba procurement suite now integrates AI intelligence into every stage of spend management — from sourcing to supplier engagement — improving cost efficiency and transparency.

SAP described these new products as the start of “a new era powered by self-reinforcing AI, data, and applications that drive intelligence, speed, and resilience.”

Industry analysts say the company’s move reflects the growing competition among major tech firms to lead the enterprise AI space. With companies like Microsoft, Google, and Oracle also expanding AI integration in business systems, SAP’s Joule-powered tools could help it maintain its position as a global leader in enterprise software solutions.

The company stated that the integration of AI and business data will help organisations adapt to changing markets, reduce operational risks, and improve collaboration between departments. The new innovations are expected to be rolled out globally in stages throughout 2026.

SAP, which operates in more than 130 countries and serves over 400,000 customers, said it is committed to helping businesses of all sizes become “intelligent enterprises” by leveraging the combined power of AI, cloud computing, and analytics.
