TECNO Mobile Officially Launched in South Africa

After a much long-anticipated wait since 2008, Africa’s biggest premium mobile phone brand, TECNO Mobile finally made its way to the South African shores. TRANSSION, TECNO Mobile’s parent company ranked 5th in global mobile phone shipments and holds the largest mobile phone market share in Africa (*Data from IDC report), will now add South Africa to their list of markets. Officially launched the three smartphones to the South African market on the 5th of March 2020, TECNO mobile smartphones will now be widely available throughout the country. South African consumers can now purchase and enjoy TECNO smartphone from major retail stores and online outlets that include, Hi, Mr Price, loot.co.za and Takealot.co.za. TECNO smartphones have also been recognised as the most used affordable smartphones in Nigeria.

Although a limited range of TECNO Mobile devices has been available in South Africa since 2019, with the official launch, a wider range of TECNO mobile devices will now be available to the South African market. TECNO mobile will continue to consolidate its position as the number one smartphone brand in the African mobile market with the release of the CAMON series smartphones. South Africa will join Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, and India as the first market recipients of the CAMON series smartphones. The devices are a first for TECNO mobile that focus on overall camera and selfie experience.
