Businesses in Kenya, Ethiopia, Ghana, Uganda and Zambia are set to benefit from a business support programme that will help them fully understand and evaluate their businesses.

The 79 ventures selected from a pool of 450 applicants are set to benefit from a six-months intensive programme piloted by Growth Africa.

“Our sessions with the entrepreneurs will enable them to put in place practices that not only grow their businesses in scale and profits but also significantly add value to our environment and the society in its entirety,” said Patricia Jumi, the Executive Director and Co-Founder.

The selected pool of businesses operates in different sectors, including agribusiness, education, technology, and medicine, and are all post-revenue.

Of the 75 ventures, 30 per cent are women-led, spotlighting the need to have more women entrepreneurs given access to training for us to achieve 50-50 gender equality as outlined in SDG 5.

“Entrepreneurs are the core of our focus; we aim to support innovative, ambitious and scalable ventures into investable businesses our goal is to help tackle African Challenges to enhance economic progress,” said Jumi.

The accelerator and Advisory firm has enhanced more than 250 African countries, worked with over 2,000 growing African businesses and has created more than 30,000 jobs in Africa.
