French shipping company CMA CGM will launch a new maritime shipping service linking Morocco, France, and Spain.

Operations of the new shuttle service, named “Morocco Shuttle,” will begin on November 10, from the port of Agadir.

The weekly service will establish a maritime bridge between Agadir’s port and Port-Vendres in France. The connection will facilitate the export of fruits and vegetables from Morocco to their final destinations.

“This will allow a -75% CO2 emissions savings compared to traditional truck modal on this corridor,” the company said in a press release.

The weekly maritime trip will operate through two ships with a  twenty-foot equivalent unit capacity (TEU) of 1,100, and equipped with 2020 refrigerators, ensuring the efficient transport of goods in top condition.

Both vessels will reach two Moroccan destinations, Agadir and Tanger Med, as well as other international ports such as Spain’s Algeciras and Barcelona ports, and France’s Port Vendres.
