U.S. Firm Iozera commits $500 Million to Data Centre, AI Hub in Morocco

Tech startup Iozera, based in the United States, has revealed intentions to establish a $500 Million, 386 MW Data Center and artificial intelligence centre in the city of Tetouan in northern Morocco.

The $500 million initiative will utilise renewable energy sources due to Morocco’s prominence in this field. Iozera aims to broaden the accessibility of advanced AI computing resources, providing increased availability of GPU-based processing for researchers, startups, and businesses in the United States, Morocco, and globally.

The project will feature facilities tailored for advanced AI computation and traditional data storage, attracting prominent tech firms and researchers worldwide.

Additionally, it will incorporate sections dedicated to AI training, data management, labelling, annotating, generating job prospects and spearheading secure AI training/modelling.

The establishment will also include an education and incubation centre for startups and local Moroccan employment. This ambitious venture was announced during a North American roadshow arranged by the Moroccan government to showcase business prospects available in the Kingdom.
