In the lead-up to the drafting of this year’s draft budget law, Morocco’s Head of Government, Aziz Akhanouch, announced that Morocco will continue to fund business creation programs such as the Intelaka and the Forsa programs.
In a document addressed to ministers of his cabinet, Akhanouch explains that the government will continue to put special emphasis on supporting private business initiatives in the country.
The document states that, during the 2023 fiscal year, the government would continue to incubate business makers by offering flexible loans with minimal collateral.
The decision is part of Morocco’s strategy to boost employment by stimulating the creation of new businesses in the country.
In addition to supporting businesses, the government would continue to fund the “Awrach” public works program that has the goal of creating around 250,000 job positions in the course of fiscal years 2022 and 2023.
Akhanouch’s government intends to equally ramp up its funding for programs aiming to boost the inclusion of women in the job market. The measure is in accordance with the instructions of King Mohammed VI, as expressed in his speech on the occasion of this year’s Throne Day.

Aside from directly funding socio-economic programs aiming to enhance women’s inclusion in the job market, the government intends to further collaborate with related stakeholders to activate and implement relevant laws to ensure equitable socio-economic development for women, the document adds.
Noting the implementation of Morocco’s 2004 family code, Akhanouch says that the government is set to mobilize the necessary funds to boost the number of family courts across Morocco and ensure they are equipped with qualified human resources to oversee the implementation of the country’s family code.
