by Radarr Africa

Chicken is the most ordered online food in Nairobi, according to Bolt Food Kenya.

Bolt Food Kenya Country Manager Edgar Kitur said chickens are followed by pizza, burgers and alcohol.

“While Kenyans continue to increasingly love chicken, other foods items are also becoming popular on our platform,” Kitur said “We expect to see an increase in orders during this festive season and as Bolt Food we are prepared to serve, and deliver our customers’ favorites at affordable prices and at their convenience,” Kitur Added

A 2021 Bolt Food Index Report showed that spicy fried chicken was the most ordered online food in the Capital, between January and November.

It was followed by chips and chicken, fried chicken and chicken winglets.

“December and January are our best months, as we experience high user activity on the app. With a selection of over 2000 restaurants which have amazing offers during the festive season, our consumers have a wide array of selection to choose from that can take the load off the pressure of cooking that is usually experienced during this period,” Kitur said

Kitur also said that Indian food is popular among Kenyans. “Despite many customers enjoying local cuisines, we have noted that Kenyans are happy to experiment on other cuisines such as Indian Foods which have also gotten considerable orders from the app.”

“We have also seen many different restaurants joining our platform, and offering other delicacies. For instance, more and more people are ordering Eastern Europe cuisines on our platform, which wasn’t the case a few months ago.” he added.

Bolt Food remains committed to offering convenience, quality and a great selection of restaurants to all its customers. The brand also continues to provide viable economic opportunities to thousands of people in the country, whilst expanding their restaurant customer base, and providing job opportunities to couriers across the market.
