Mercedes-Benz Egypt is getting ready to begin operations at its new logistics hub at the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) in Ain Sokhna soon this year, according to a press release on August 18 .
Mercedes-Benz Logistics and Distribution Egypt (MBLDE) is being established on an area of 20,000 square meters (sqm) in the SCZONE’s Fifth Zone.
The logistics hub will provide services, including “storage and stock management for complete built-up vehicles (CBU) and as a potential second step, Completely Knocked-Down Kits (CKD), Semi Knocked-Down Kits (SKD), spare parts, tools, and local production materials”.
The opening of this hub will help to strengthen the brand’s leading market positioning and expand its presence in Egypt, as well as to provide authorized dealer networks and companies with administrative and managerial services.
“For decades Mercedes-Benz has successfully invested in the Egyptian market and we recognize vast future potential. The Egyptian government has made significant effort to facilitate and support strategic foreign investment as evidenced by our cooperation with the Suez Canal Economic Zone,” President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Egypt Gerd Bitterlich said.
“We look forward to the upcoming opening of Mercedes-Benz Logistics and Distribution Egypt as we continue to provide leading luxury products, complemented with superior customer service experiences across the country,” Bitterlich added.
In September 2021, Mercedes-Benz Egypt signed a contract with the SCZONE to allocate a land plot for the construction of the logistics hub.
