Elon Musk sets to holds a meeting with Twitter employees.

by Radarr Africa

Tesla CEO and billionaire Elon Musk has been confirmed by Twitter company on Tuesday of his plans towards addressing its employees at a meeting this week which would be a first since launching his troubled $44 billion (R710 billion) bid for the social media platform.

With the meeting set to hold on Thursday, it comes with a standoff on the company’s leadership over the service’s user numbers that have put the buyout in doubt.

Referring to the gathering, Twitter said “We can confirm this is true and happening.”

Twitter’s future has been filled with uncertainty since Musk’s takeover move became public in April which also by concern is about being led by the mercurial Tesla chief.

Musk making a few changes has advocated a less restrictive approach to what users can post on Twitter and also said he would lift the ban the platform slapped on former US president Donald Trump which is a decision considered highly polarizing.

Musk also threatened to standoff on his end after accusing Twitter of refusing to provide data on fake accounts, but the company has since reportedly decided and agreed to provide him with access.

Ever since Musk took over the platform, the idea of his ownership and leadership has stoked protest from critics who warn his stewardship will embolden hate groups and disinformation campaigns while others see Musk questioning of Twitter and its demand as a means to an end, probably a way to end the takeover process or pressure twitter into reducing its price.
