Egyptian exports of food industries grew by around 2.4% year-on-year (YoY), or $51 million, during the first half of 2022, recording $2.169 billion. This was disclosed in a report by the Food Export Council (FEC).
Arab countries topped the list of importers of Egyptian food products in H1 2022, with $1.086 billion worth of imports, recording a 3% YoY decline.
The European Union came second, with imports of $427 million from January until the end of June, up 22% YoY.
The United States occupied the third place among importers of Egyptian food products in the January-June period, registering $148 million worth of imports, which reflects a 31% YoY surge.
