Ahead of the 2027 general elections, leaders and key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos West Senatorial District have pledged to strengthen party unity, promote reconciliation and intensify grassroots mobilisation.
The commitment was made at the Lagos West Senatorial District Leadership Meeting held on Thursday at the Ikeja Local Government Secretariat.
The meeting was hosted by Ikeja Local Government, alongside Onigbongbo and Ojodu Local Council Development Areas.
Among those in attendance were the senator representing Lagos West, Senator Idiat Adebule; Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin; APC Apex Leader in Lagos West and member of the Governor’s Advisory Council, Prince Rabiu Oluwa; Abayomi Finnih and several other prominent party leaders.
Representatives from local governments and Local Council Development Areas across Lagos West also participated in the meeting.
The gathering focused on strengthening internal party unity, improving grassroots mobilisation, promoting good governance and developing strategies to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu, Lagos governorship candidate Obafemi Hamzat and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
Adebule Urges APC Members to Remain United
Speaking at the meeting, Adebule commended the large turnout of party leaders and stakeholders, describing it as evidence of the APC’s strength and commitment across Lagos West.
She encouraged members to maintain unity and loyalty to the party while working collectively towards Tinubu’s re-election and the success of all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
The senator also stressed the need for party members to remain focused and coordinated as preparations for the elections gather momentum.
Oluwa Calls for Reconciliation and Consensus
Oluwa also appealed to APC leaders and stakeholders to strengthen internal cohesion, maintain discipline and improve grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 polls.
While acknowledging the progress recorded by the party, he noted that some aspects of its internal structures still required further improvement.
He therefore called for greater reconciliation, consultation and consensus-building among party members to strengthen the APC ahead of the elections.
Ikeja APC Promises Strong Grassroots Mobilisation
The APC Chairman in Ikeja, Adebowale Adetoro, assured party stakeholders that the Ikeja chapter remained united, focused and committed to securing victory for all APC candidates in 2027.
Adetoro said the chapter had continued to strengthen its grassroots structures while maintaining close engagement with party leaders, members and other stakeholders.
He added that the Ikeja APC would continue its mobilisation efforts to deliver a decisive victory for the party in Ikeja and across the Lagos West Senatorial District during the 2027 elections.
