FCMB Customer Dies Due to the Bank's Negligence

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has been blamed for the death of its customer in one of its branches in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Based on the report gathered the deceased visited the banking hall on Monday in order to withdraw funds from his account but was not attended to by the official of the bank.

Due to the negligence of the staff of the bank, the deceased slumped and died after several hours of waiting in vain without being able to access the funds he needed to cater for his health.

This development sparked outrage in Port Harcourt as well as social media when a video of the dead customer surfaced on the internet.

In a video shared by PUNCH, the person who captured the ugly incident was heard saying the name of the bank is FCMB and that a similar incident had happened before the day.

In the video, the deceased brother was also seen lamenting, explaining how the deceased was at the bank on Friday but didn’t get access to his money till he returned to the bank yesterday.

This is not the first time FCMB is in the eyes of the storm for the wrong reason.

It would be recalled that a few months ago its Managing Director, Mr Adam Nuru, was accused of being responsible for the death of the husband of a former employee of the bank.

It was reported that Mr Nuru, who has since stepped down to allow for a probe into the matter, allegedly had a romantic affair with the women and fathered her two children.

When the legal husband of the former employee of the bank found out about his wife’s infidelity, and also not being the biological father of the children, he went into depression and later died.
