The Nigerian Army has cautioned members of the public against a fake recruitment notice circulating on social media, which claims that applications for the 92 Regular Recruitment Intake have commenced.
In a statement signed by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Directorate of Recruitment, Captain AU Hammanga, and shared on X on Wednesday, the Army described the circulating publication as false and urged Nigerians to disregard it.
“The publication is false and should be disregarded in its entirety,” the Army stated.
The Army explained that it follows an established process for announcing recruitment exercises and advised prospective applicants to depend only on its official communication channels for verified information.
“The Nigerian Army maintains a clear and official procedure for announcing recruitment exercises and related activities and will duly inform the public through its official channels once the portal for 92 Regular Recruitment Intake is formally opened,” the statement said.
The warning comes as concerns grow that fraudsters may take advantage of the fake recruitment notice to deceive job seekers, obtain their personal information, or demand money from unsuspecting applicants.
The Nigerian Army reiterated its commitment to ensuring that its recruitment exercises are conducted transparently and professionally.
“The Nigerian Army remains committed to transparency and professionalism in all recruitment processes,” it stated.
The Army also warned members of the public to be cautious and avoid falling victim to fraudulent recruitment schemes.
Prospective applicants were advised to verify recruitment-related information through the Nigerian Army’s official channels before submitting applications or making any payments.
The Army urged Nigerians to disregard the circulating notice and wait for an official announcement on the commencement of the 92 Regular Recruitment Intake.
