NDC vice-presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso has urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to step down from the 2027 presidential race, citing his age and health.
“Step Down for Us; We Will Take Care of You”
Speaking while receiving members of the Fulani Farmers Association at his Abuja residence, Kwankwaso pledged that Atiku would be taken care of if the NDC wins.
“Step down for us; if we win, we will take care of you,” he said.
He also pointed to Atiku’s traditional title as Wazirin Adamawa, suggesting he focus on that role instead.
Atiku, the ADC’s presidential candidate, will turn 80 by 2027 and has previously acknowledged the election could be his last shot at the presidency.
