The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has said it will comply with electoral rules but resist any attempt to manipulate or rig the party out of the 2027 general elections.
National Chairman of the party, David Mark, made the statement on Wednesday in Abuja when he received the Governing Council of the Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development, led by former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola.
Mark said the ADC would follow the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and its internal code of conduct, while insisting that the party must be allowed to participate in a credible electoral process. (Premium Times Nigeria)
“We will play by the rules. But we will not accept rigging or allow ourselves to be rigged out.”
Mark also said the party was committed to conducting its political activities in a way that strengthens public confidence in democracy.
Savannah Centre seeks commitment to peaceful polls
The visit by the Savannah Centre’s governing council was part of its engagement with political parties and other stakeholders ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ariwoola urged the ADC leadership, its candidates and supporters to comply with INEC rules and avoid actions that could contribute to political violence.

ADC insists on level playing field
Mark has previously called for an electoral process free from manipulation, intimidation and the abuse of state institutions.

The party has also said it will follow its internal governance principles contained in its Orange Book alongside INEC’s electoral guidelines.
